How to use Discussions in Stackr Project

Discussions

Discussions give you a single inbox for every open conversation happening across the boards you have access to in Stackr Project. Instead of checking each board separately, you can see what's new, jump straight to the relevant topic, and stay on top of activity without missing a reply buried on a board you don't visit often.

How it works

  1. Open Discussions from the Stackr Project navigation.
  2. Review the list of topics, grouped by board. Each group is labeled with the board's name and shows its most recently active topics first.
  3. Scan a topic row for context, such as which board it belongs to and when it last had activity.
  4. Click a topic to jump directly into that board's Discussions view, opened to the topic you selected.
  5. Reply or change the topic's notification level from within the board — your changes are reflected the next time you return to the inbox.
  6. Mute any discussion you no longer want to track from inside the board. Muted discussions drop out of this list automatically, so your inbox only shows what's still relevant to you.

If you don't see a board's discussions here, check that you have an active grant on that board — Discussions only surfaces topics from boards you can currently access.

In practice

An IT manager running a laptop refresh has a dedicated board for the rollout, with topics covering shipping delays, loaner requests, and offboarding edge cases. Rather than checking that board on its own, they open Discussions each morning to see which topics have new replies since yesterday, respond to the most urgent ones first, and mute the threads that have been resolved so they stop cluttering the inbox.

A facilities manager overseeing several school buildings has a separate board per building for recurring maintenance. When a topic about a broken HVAC unit gets a new reply, it rises to the top of that building's group in Discussions, so the manager can respond quickly without hunting across every board.

Tips

  • Mute discussions you're only loosely following — they'll disappear from your inbox but stay fully intact on the board.
  • Use the board grouping to quickly tell which project or building a conversation belongs to before you click in.
  • Check Discussions regularly rather than each board individually — it's the fastest way to catch new replies across your whole workload.
